My issue is that occasionally Windows XP will not boot! After the long Windows XP boot screen, the screen goes blank, backlight turns off, and When it does boot, the backlight comes back on, the cursor shows up and then the desktop. On rare occasion, Windows just stays on the boot screen - forever, and I end up pressing the power button 'till the machine turns off.

On the Mac side all is fine full resolution, rotation, etc, etc. On the Vista side works OK but will not go to full resolution x or whatever Catalyst control panel recognizes full res but will not reset from x or whatever. Any thoughts out there. Apple does not seem to give a hoot. User profile for user: kclmbp kclmbp. Van Nostrum You're not alone. I have a similar machine MacBook Pro 17" 2. I have a bluish tint on my display and to compound the problem, since the driver is defective, I cannot project my display on any projector.
I was able to do so when Boot Camp was in beta mode, but not since I installed Leopard.

It's disappointing that no one from Apple has responded to this post. And it is indicative of how much of a neophyte Apple is in trying to enter the true business community. MacBook's with Intel processors are a great start, but not if Apple doesn't quickly figure out how to support the Windows environment that it states it can with Boot Camp.
If Apple does not plan to take this seriously, then they should really be refunding the purchase price of the MacBook Pro and the software for those customers that bought it specifically because of the promise Apple made to support a Windows environment. And I would think that every customer who bought the machine specifically for Boot Camp has a great class action suit in the works.
Step up and take some responsibility Apple! You're not dealing in a child's world anymore. These are real issues from people that do work other than graphic design! User profile for user: JeffRutan JeffRutan. I have a 17" MBP 2. In Boot Camp XP, common gray and blue backgrounds or any image with a fine matrix pattern or gradient flicker at a high frequency like it can't decide what color to display in each pixel. This is obviously a display driver issue since the same programs look just fine running under Parallels linked to the same Boot Camp install.
Most of the applications I want to use in Boot Camp XP have these flickering gray backgrounds, so I fear I am in danger of inducing a seizure! This renders my Boot Camp unusable for me. Hopefully Apple will acknowledge this issue and fix the driver soon. User profile for user: ttope ttope.

So here I am, on El Capitan
. OK, so I followed the directions to the letter. Everything went fine. It installed OK. I did a reboot just in case , started up City of Heroes, and was ecstatic when there was no video flickering and I was greeted to a normal looking "Loading Well, unfortunately that's all I was greeted to.
To my dismay, it hung at the loading screen indefinitely. I made sure it is set to run in "Windows Vista" compatibility and it's set to "Run as administrator Any theories on what I can try now? EDIT: This is probably going to make it sound like it's a problem with the game itself, but it isn't.

I even tried the new Windows 7 build and the same issue is occurring. I've tried the Mobility Tools walkthrough and even tried using the Driver Cleaner program and that didn't do it, either. I even tried some Windows 7 drivers that also didn't work. Again, if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
